Çilimli Vocational High School
Established in 2008, Çilimli Vocational High School began the academic year 2008/2009 in the building which was given by Çilimli National Education Directorship. Three-storeyed building which has four classrooms has been established in a 2500 m2 area including the outdoor parts.
There are 111 students in two programmes, organic farming and accounting. Our school owns:
- A computer laboratory in which there are 30 desktop computers with LCD monitors and internet connection,
- 1 organic farming laboratory which enables the students of organic farming to practice,
- A storehouse in which there are agricultural vehicles and machines,
- A café for students to have a rest, spend time after the class hours,
- A dining hall for lunch,
- A library that enables students to study.
In our vocational high school whose education period is 4 semesters (2 years) there are 5 instructors (three in accounting programme and two in organic farming), 1 administrative staff, 3 other staff work. In addition, the support of other lecturers from other faculties and vocational high schools are taken for courses (apart from vocational courses) which requires mastery.
Çilimli Vocational High School has been the choice of local students and students from the region or all over the country because of its location in between two big cities, Ankara and Istanbul (the same distance for those cities, almost 225 km), continuous transportation facilities in Düzce province and in the provinces of METEB, the town’s physical facilities, its social development and potential employment opportunities.
Transportation is very easy in Çilimli which is at a distance of 15 km from Düzce. There are buses and minibuses in every 30 minutes from centre of Düzce to the town. The school is located in the centre of Çilimli.
